Since Dr. Niedzwiecki
does so many relatively new treatment options, some insurance
companies refuse or can be unpredictable about covering
them. Uncertainty in respect to their insurance coverage
poses a very large stumbling block for some women pursuing
this option. For this reason Dr. Niedzwiecki is one of the
few Interventional Radiologists to have a staff member solely
devoted to "going to battle" with insurance
companies on behalf of his patients. We have a long
way to go before all procedures are universally accepted
by all insurance companies, but there is good news in that
more and more carriers are beginning to recognize the advantages
and effectiveness of intervention procedures and are changing
their current policies.

Unfortunately, it sometimes becomes necessary to dispute
an insurance carrier’s denial of coverage. We provide assistance
to our patients who find such a denial unacceptable and
opt to appeal. We have compiled an appeal packet providing
valuable information to anyone disputing their carrier’s
denial.
If you are denied coverage
by your insurance carrier and wish to appeal their decision,
as one of Dr. Niedzwiecki’s patients we will stand by
you every step of the way. It is imperative, however,
that you are willing to be the front runner in this process.
As a patient and a premium payer with a devastating health
issue seeking your best treatment option, you are much more
important to them than any physician.
We will assist you by:
• writing letters to your carrier on your behalf
• providing a guide line and helpful suggestions on how
to present your appeal
• providing an outline on how to write your own appeal letter
• supplying extensive literature from various medical
We will also be there if you request to go before a Grievance
Committee with:
• a guideline and suggestions on how to present your grievance
to a board
• patient education on your rights regarding a board hearing
• help in "fine tuning" your presentation
It is very important to us that you triumph in your appeal.
This not only benefits you, but also helps other people
after you seeking treatment.
